Human Experience & Interaction Design Lab
Institute of Computer Science
University of Tartu, Estonia
Mission
The lab conducts practice-based research with a focus on interaction design and user experience to investigate the effects of technology on human behaviour, communication and social interaction. Using qualitative fieldwork methods to understand the implications of how new technologies transform social life and people’s day-to-day lives; a key objective is to understand how complex systems might be successfully embedded into workplaces, leisure environments and domestic settings working directly with stakeholders
Aims
The study of human-centred computing through practice-based research in interaction design and user experience. This research examines transformations in people’s behaviour, communication practices, and interaction when new technologies are introduced into a setting. Informed by social science perspectives using enthographic fieldwork, and design practice to understand human-technology interaction.
